(Click to view... 74KB)Artistry in Wood demonstrations are an important part of the show. Visitors recognize it as a good place to obtain free knowledge from some of the top artists in the carving world. It’s always fun, and some of the carvers could double as stand-up comedians.
Our first demonstrator was Leah Wachter, Sarasota Fla., who was on “cloud nine” since she won the best-of-show award this year. She explained her layer painting and how she paints her darkest color first and then adds up to sometimes five different shades of colors until the final highlights. I think she had several layers of well deserved “glow” herself; congratulations Leah.
Make plans to see our 2005 show on November 12 and 13, at the Dayton International Airport Exposition Center, just off I-75 at Exit #64, Northwoods Blvd. Maybe you would like to organize a bus trip to our show, as many groups did, to share the experience. You will be delighted you attended, because the Artistry in Wood Show carves a big impression on people!
