"The Chosen Leader," by Abel Bolhuis of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., measures 18 by 13 by 3 inches and is carved from one piece of basswood. The tree and Arizona rocks in the background are stained with oil. Abel and his wife, Kitty, are full-time RV travelers.
