10th show for Cedar Rapids, Iowa club

Siberian Tiger by Linda Langenberg
The Cedar Valley Wood Carvers Club of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, held its 10th
annual show February 10 and 11 at the Long Branch Convention Center in
Cedar Rapids. This was the first year that CVWC held a competition as
part of the show, which added an element of excitement to the event.
Cash prizes were awarded to those winning top honors.
A female bust in walnut by Linda Langenberg of Marion, Iowa, took
best-of-show honors; Jim Gerlich, Cedar Rapids, won second best of show
with a wren and third best of show with a kestrel. Kathy Jessen won Best
Table Display and Arnold Carver took the People’s Choice Award.
There were more than 50 exhibitors from Iowa and neighboring states, and
approximately 150 carvings entered in 30 different categories. Following
is a list of winners in each category:
