Eagle by John Todd

After John Todd was featured in the National Eagles magazine, members of Shell Knob (Mo.) Aerie #4155 commissioned him to carve an eagle that could be used as a fund raiser for their new building. Inspired by the 100th anniversary of the organization whose motto is “People Helping People,” the Aerie proposed to sponsor a raffle among the nation’s Eagle lodges.

Carved in walnut, the eagle is a one-of-a-kind original sculpture; the base measures 15 by 12 inches and the overall height is 27 inches.

Shell Knob, a small rural community located on Table Rock Lake near Branson, Mo., is visited by Eagle lodge members from all over the country from time to time.

John Todd, noted master carver of raptors, animals, Indians and mountain men, is famous for his eagles. He never repeats the same pose or duplicates one. He also lives in Shell Knob.
