Charging Hawk by Bob Robertson

It was 14 years ago this issue that we first featured the outstanding works of Bob Robertson. At that time he had been carving professionally for just over a decade, and his magnificent sculptures were already collectors' items from coast to coast.

The intervening years have been good to the carver from Hollister, Mo.; the accompanying photos (see the original article) and 29x28" cover masterpiece bear witness to that. And while serious western themes still figure prominently into his repertoire, Bob is entertaining thoughts of marketing a line of Indian blanks (four to six feet tall), plus possibly a large caricature cowboy... "and maybe some other ideas that the carving public would enjoy carving."

Anyone interested in learning more about Bob's carving blanks should send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Bob Robertson, 439 Knox, Hollister, MO 65672.

This article, pictures of the carvings mentioned here, and MUCH more can be found in Chip Chats Volume 42, Issue #4.
